ABOUT

History

Since 2018, FRONTIER has been a leading net-label in the underground electronic music scene. With a roster of over 50 artists and a catalogue of 5 acclaimed compilation albums, FRONTIER continues to pave the way for small, independent artists. Founded in March of 2018 by American electronic producer stereofield, the label was initially launched as “Frontier Music” and served to push small electronic artists’ music (mainly on SoundCloud) into the greater underground music scene.

After a period of inactivity from mid 2019 to mid 2020, Frontier Music joined forces with neighbouring creative arts collective “AC Community”, and created what is now FRONTIER by AC. With it’s newfound look and feel, FRONTIER began their acclaimed series of compilation albums, each of which having a different theme, that any musician could submit their tracks to. The first compilation was released to community acclaim and the idea of FRONTIER compilations quickly became one of the most captivating events for the AC community.

We’ve held true to the vision stereofield created to this day, as our goal continues to be to provide a simple and welcoming resource for newer/smaller artists to explore the underground music scene.

Artist Rights

FRONTIER has comitted to an “artist-first” sentiment through and through. Our artists, at base of the Frontier Recordings Artist Recording Agreement, receive full rights (incl. but not limited to: mechanical rights, public performance/performance rights, and holding copyright) to their music ensuring the utmost artistic freedom we can provide for them. Additionally, FRONTIER will never take more than 50% of any revenue generated by streams and purchases from online stores.
